The Box Boom range from Energy Cranes comprises proven designs built in Houston to the latest API 2C specification for Types A & B cranes.
The designs in production today build on the best experience of the American Aero and Titan ranges dating back more than 20 years, but now re-engineered using the latest strategies for performance maximisation and weight reduction.
Why choose a box boom?
Box booms are ideal for heavy lifting at close radius, because the weight of the load is absorbed in compression forces within the very strong box-boom structure. This same rigidity is often also attractive for applications on vessels and lift boats.
A further benefit of the box boom design is its sealed construction; this excludes water and air ingress, thereby minimising corrosion opportunities. This can be particularly beneficial in environments where the crane may stand unused for extended periods between workovers or platform maintenance visits.
