Only occasionally, other than new builds, is a complete rig mechanization system ordered as one project. More usually, the challenge lies in finding a contractor who can develop partial systems to integrate with existing equipment – but with an eye to progressive upgrade of the whole.

Design and project management resources are based at the Mechanical Handling division's headquarters in Shipley, England. These are represented in the field by sales and customer support personnel in Aberdeen, Houston, Abu Dhabi and Perth and are backed by the sophisticated high-end computer assisted design, modelling and testing facilities at the group's technical centre in Aberdeen.
